MAKE A creature-friendly compost corner

any gardeners have a compost bin or two on their plot. They are usually tucked away out of view at the bottom of a garden or behind the shed on an allotment. The compost bins themselves can often be home to many creatures, including slow worms and beetles, but there is great scope to improve the immediate area around your bin to help other wildlife. When I say improve that is really the wrong word. Letting it go is probably a better description. This is the perfect place to create an area that is loved by wildlife but not necessarily gardeners, who usually prefer tidiness and order on their plot. Let nature take control and give your cultivations a rest and just see what appears.
