Mikis Theodorakis Born 1925 Composer

s an artist and activist, Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis was never afraid to stick his head above the parapet – something which came naturally, given his height. His life would make a gripping (1964). Born on the island of Chios, he graduated from Athens Conservatory in 1950 and won a Paris Conservatoire scholarship, where he studied with Messiaen. He returned from exile to Greece in 1974.
