So far it has not been a great La Solitaire du Figaro for the international skippers, principally Alan Roberts and Ireland’s Tom Dolan. On a brutal race which is scored on cumulative time over all the stages they have found themselves on the wrong side of tidal and/or wind transition zones to be challenging the top five positions overall, as they might realistically have hoped.
