LARGE parts of South Africa are still in the grip of one of the worst droughts of the past 100 years. Climatically most of our country is dry and hot, and with irrigation needed to produce 25% to 30% of agricultural products, access to water throughout the year is essential.
Dams are one of the age-old ways by which humans ensure consistent access to clean water. Dams improve our lives by supplying us with clean drinking water, generating green electricity and managing and preventing flooding.
