THE WHITE STUFF

Having acquired his first Mini when he was just sixteen years old, Jon Shephard was so smitten he went on to own another two. And they served him well. Nonetheless, some years back, having been tempted by the VW scene, he bid goodbye to the classic Mini world. Thankfully though, it was more of an ‘au revoir’ than a proper goodbye, as in 2018 Jon sold his VW and went in search of another Mini. And he didn’t have to search for too long, or travel too far.

“Classic Minis have always been close to my heart,” admits Jon. “Although I enjoyed the VW scene, my dream project had always been to build a big power Mini. Luckily, very soon after I started looking, which was back in 2018, I spotted a 1980 Mini 1000 rolling shell on eBay which I felt would form the ideal basis of
