While the original Mini Cooper S is widely regarded as a thoroughly British car, for a time they were also built in South Africa too. Long-time Mini fan, Nick Storey is quite partial to an SA-built Cooper complete with its unusual quirks and this very original 1966 example in Almond Green is just one of a number of cool ‘60s Minis in his possession.
Nick’s first car aged 17 happened to be a 1960 Austin Seven, gifted by his Mum and subsequently rolled at the first opportunity. “It was only a short-lived experience, but I became hooked on them straight away,” Nick tells us, “I’m 58 now and my passion for the Mini remains as strong
