There’s nothing like a little colour to bring joy to a space. And with the weather warming up and restrictions starting to ease, it’s a feeling we’re more than ready for. Here, design experts predict the hottest colours and patterns of the new season, with practical tips on how to use them at home.

COLOUR

Joyful, life-affirming colours will dominate in 2022, says Sonia Simpfendorfer, creative director at Nexus Designs. “Think deep, complex greens balanced with warm colours such as caramel and butterscotch, terracotta or cinnamon, paired with deep blues and white, and strong colours like oxblood on a beige background with accents of black. These colours convey strength, warmth and all the things we need right now,” she says.
