PROST!

If you can’t fly to Munich to celebrate Oktoberfest, don’t fret: there are local opportunities to steep yourself in German culture, food, and (perhaps most importantly) beer.

The () has been sponsoring Southwest Florida’s largest Oktoberfest celebration since 1964, with a pandemic break in 2020. This year’s festival will take place over the weekends of October 22-24 and 29-31 and is expected to attract more than 30,000 people. There will be three stages, two dance floors, and nonstop live bands playing German music. Hungry guests can indulge in specialties such as bratwurst, schnitzel, sauerbraten, and potato pancakes; Warsteiner, Radeberger, and Hofbrau will be available, along with a selection of domestic beers. There will also be a special carnival area for children. Admission is $8.
