Jaguar 1993 XJR-S

We know what you’re thinking. Why is the normally sober and sensible Hemmings Motor News staff offering buying advice about the 1993 Jaguar XJR-S — a car so rare that only a tiny fraction of RADwood attendees could buy one?

Well, for a car built in such low numbers — 100 total, 50 coupes and 50 convertibles — they seem to pop up for sale fairly regularly. A Jet Black convertible with 36,000 miles was advertised in the Jaguar section of HMN recently for $59,900 and, as of this writing, it was still listed for sale on Hemmings.com. A Signal Red coupe sold at RM’s Fort Lauderdale sale in March 2019 for $41,250, while Mecum sold another Signal Red coupe at its Monterey sale, in August of that same year, for $48,400.
