GWR ‘Razor Edge’ railcar in ‘OO’

WHILST it might seem strange to feature a Great Western Railway prototype in Rail Express Modeller, the 'Razor Edge' AEC railcars, built by the GWR at its works in Swindon in 1940-41, spent part of their working lives under BR ownership and lasted until the early 1960s, where they rubbed shoulders with pioneer BR diesel classes in daily service.

The type modelled by Heljan features the angular fronts which became known as ‘Razor Edge’, compared to the earlier rounded-fronted cars built by Park Royal and GRCW.
