THE CLASSIC CARGO SHIPS OF CLAN LINE

Cayzer, Irvine’s Clan Line was one of the foremost shipping companies of the 20th century, having a number of subsidiary companies and relationships with other lines. Throughout its period of operation, it took over a number of competitor companies as well as their ships and routes. In 1956, through the impetus of Nicholas Cayzer, Clan Line joined with the Union-Castle Line, King Line and Bullard, King & Company to form British & Commonwealth Shipping Limited (B&C).
