SEDDON 32:FOUR

The last new heavy vehicle to bear a ‘Seddon Diesel’ badge, namely the ’32:Four’, was unveiled on November 3 1967. The 32:Four, which later evolved into the 34:Four, marked the Oldham company’s entry in the all-important 32-ton market. Before that, Seddon could only offer the 30.4.6LX which was limited to 30 tons gcw by its power output and axle capacities.

The big difference in the 32:Four was its engine – it was powered by a Rolls-Royce Eagle 220 and its full designation was ‘32:Four 220RR’. The second thing that set it apart was its all-new 13-ton Seddon drive axle.
