The most exciting moments in this by-numbers actioner come when Liam Neeson’s motley crew positions Mother Nature as enemy as the eponymous route begins its seasonal thaw and there is also undercover villainy and a secret family connection trying to keep the otherwise prosaic plot interesting. With time of the essence, and enmity within his cobbled-together team, Neeson’s Mike McCann does what all the actor’s other humourless, determined heroes do, and keeps on truckin’.
