Beer: a glass half-full

BEER IS as British as fish and chips. Indeed, in days of yore, it was preferable to water, which was often unreliable and unpotable. Beer at the very least was a clean and wholesome beverage, even for the very young, with which to slake your thirst.

The brewing of beer has changed little over the centuries, other than the obvious improvements associated with better hygiene and technology. Beer is important to us.
