Alunatic appeared at the kitchen door on a recent night. She was covered in blood and gunk and she was grinning, madly, proudly. The lunatic was me. I had just delivered, by torchlight, under the guidance of Miles the sheep farmer, the twin lambs of my now four-year-old, hand-reared pet sheep, Elizabeth Jane. I have named them Edward and Emily.
