I sat comfortably on a grassy ledge, glassing the steep, wooded valley below as golden rays of evening sunlight gilded the high tops and crags. From my elevated perch, I could see endless blue mountains. There was not a breath of wind. The silence was absolute. Mist was starting to pool in the hollows.
