Don’t wing it if you want consistency

The woodpigeon is not only a formidable agricultural pest — it is also one of the most challenging adversaries to shoot. I can’t think of another quarry that offers the same range of angle, height and speed. The birds don’t make for easy shooting and frustration can arise when you are trying your utmost to protect a farmer’s valuable crops. The woodpigeon’s prowess on the wing can intimidate less experienced Shots, and many find themselves downgraded to glorified scarecrows. But are pigeons really that challenging, or do shooters just get carried away with the hype behind the challenge?
