Many birds are back in voice now, after August's silence during their moult. The warmth of summer. Visually, ‘zebra' would be a better analogy, due to the black-and-white angular flashes on its upper wings. The folded lower wings, often partially visible as this large moth forages over nectar-rich flowers, range from egg-yolk yellow to near scarlet and are sparsely dotted with cheetah spots. So, no tiger-but all the same, its fancy dress proclaims ‘be wary': this morsel is toxic.
