WHAT IS IT?
It’s a weapon-mounted illuminator that can provide either white light or infrared (IR) light with an infrared laser.
WHAT GOT OUR ATTENTION?
The Streamlight TLR-1 is one of the most common pistol-mounted lights on the market, so we were immediately interested to see a dual-output, night-vision-capable version of this popular design. SureFire has the X300V, X400V, and XVL2, so it makes perfect sense for Streamlight to throw its hat in the ring.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Streamlight’s product description states that the TLR-VIR II “securely fits M17/M18 pistols.” Images on the product page only show this combination, hinting that the illuminator may have been designed as part of a government contract
