Try to sketch from nature as often as you can. Sketching is the ABC of painting. It’s a language we can all learn. I believe that painting is about 70% observation and 30% application. Sketching and drawing helps us to understand all the important elements like colour, light, value, perspective and composition which in turn makes for a more pleasing result.
