Three months ago, I had a publicity and marketing meeting with my publishing team. The plan was six pages long, with all kinds of bells and whistles, and I was really excited. Then in the few weeks leading up to publication, it felt like none of what they said they were going to do was happening. Everything I had expected and hoped for just … didn’t happen. What is the benefit of not committing to the plan? Don’t we all want to sell the book?
