‘I always admired people who could write a novel,’ writes subscriber Sue Shearing.
‘It’s one thing writing a short story, but 80,000 words?
‘But when I found myself alone during lockdown, I had to find a way to stay sane, and as I couldn’t go anywhere or see anyone I decided that the only way I could have an adventure was to write one.
‘I started with a woman, much like me, living alone in the country. I imagined an old friend of hers moving in nearby, and the story started to write itself.
