ith the easing of Covid-19. It was wonderful to see attendees spilling over onto the lawn outside the ‘Shed’. Adam Hickox (pictured above) started with Beethoven Overture No. 2 – appropriate, as it’s all about freeing prisoners – Kevin Fitzgerald conducted Haydn’s Symphony No. 3 and Rimsky-Korsakov’s , then Andris Nelsons led a sprightly Stravinsky . The orchestra was composed entirely of young performers – none looked over 30 – who were clearly very happy to play in public again.
