NEO GEO POCKET COLOR

EVIL RYU, I CHOOSE YOU!

SNK VS CAPCOM: CARD FIGHTERS CLASH

DEVELOPER: SNK

RELEASE: 1999

Arguably the best game on Neo Geo Pocket Color, Card Fighters Clash is a card battling RPG that takes more than a little inspiration from Pokémon. Building a personalised deck of popular characters from both SNK and Capcom games is a huge part of the appeal, but it’s the surprisingly tactical card game itself that will keep you playing for hours.

Since each character’s BP represents both their attack power and health, choosing when to attack or defend can be a nerve-wracking decision, and it’s not unusual for tense battles to go right down to the wire. Like , two different editions of the game were released: an SNK added 240 new character cards and was the final release for the Neo Geo Pocket in 2001, but was unfortunately never released in English.
