Portrait of a WOMAN

The Lighthouse ArtCenter in Tequesta will debut two concurrent exhibitions of works by women artists in its gallery on September 7: “Women in the Visual Arts” and “Paintings by Aboriginal People.” The ArtCenter will partner with the Boca Raton–based nonprofit Women in the Visual Arts to showcase the works of the organization’s 30 local member artists who create in a variety of mediums, from precious metals to photography.

The ArtCenter’s women-created wonders will continue in “Paintings by Aboriginal People,” featuring pieces by 30 aboriginal women artists among the collection. The vibrant colors and textures of works by artists like Jeanie Nungarryi tell a spellbinding story about the native people’s lives. The exhibitions are
