Whether creating a towering hedge, an archway into a secret garden, or providing year-round interest in beds or containers, evergreens allow us to protect and divide areas as well as acting as a foil to ephemeral infill. They can provide impact, be used as specimens in containers or landscaping, as punctuation points and visual breaks in borders, or be clipped into fanciful topiary.
