IT is not uncommon to see young horses for sale with a set of X-rays, to demonstrate the absence of developmental orthopaedic disease or other bony lumps that might prove detrimental to their career. Increasingly, ambulatory vets are offering mobile radiography for pre-sales purposes or minor health issues, or when a horse with severe laminitis or a suspected fracture cannot be transported safely to a clinic.
