TALE OF THE UNEXPECTED

ANGLERS VISITING RINGSTEAD BAY in Dorset usually fish at night for conger eels, jumbo pouting and occasional rays, but this vast shingle beach is almost forgotten for daylight fishing.

Nestling along the Jurassic coastline, the huge sweeping shingle beach oozes fishing potential yet has gone untapped for years until recently when it became fairly popular for lure anglers targeting bass.

In an attempt to get to grips with its true daylight potential, I teamed up with Steve Lawrence and Chris Rogers from Poole and we were joined later by Dave Lane from Weymouth.
