FIAT DOBLO
Throttle pedal position sensor
Q My elderly father has a 2011 Fiat Doblo 1.6 Multijet diesel van, used for short journeys which I know is not good. It has 90,000 miles on the clock, and is regularly serviced. It has been 100% reliable over the last seven years in his ownership. Yesterday, the EML came on showing code; P2135 throttle/pedal position sensor/switch A/B voltage correlation. No other codes were found or saved from reading the ECU. My first port of call will be to check the throttle body spindle/flap for free movement. Any advice regarding the pedal sender switch and throttle body motor or anything else to check/test would be great.

A The code P2135 does as you have said equate to the accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor/switch A/B – voltage correlation. And the most probable reason for this code is either a wiring or circuit problem or the accelerator pedal position sensor which is part of the accelerator pedal assembly. My first checks would be that the connecting plug to the throttle pedal assembly is in good order and that the pedal itself appears to be clean.
It is quite commonly found that the constant use of the pedal by a foot which has jumped into the vehicle from outside will bring with it the damp and dirt which will then contaminate the sensor in the pedal.
Providing the plug is making a good contact and the terminals appear to be clean and dry, then the most likely cause of the code is the pedal itself. Although the problem may be associated with the throttle body this would more than likely leave a P06xx code.

Well, they say everyone likes a challenge, but this one has beaten me and it seems everyone else as well.
