These aren't your average modified cars because, although the additions are generally readily available from some of the classic tuning companies in the Volkswagen world, they're literally brand new cars owned and commissioned by Volkswagen USA. The sole existence of VW USA’s Enthusiast Fleet is to showcase the latest models which they’re based on and demonstrate what can be achieved with some wrenching time, while still retaining everything that made them great from the factory. What a great idea!
The job of making these modifications fell to yours truly from inside the corporate offices at VW, with some inspired guidance on the Mk8 GTI, and a bit more of a blank slate on the Tiguan R-Line. Sean Maynard over at VW USA who looks after the Enthusiast Fleet had spotted the Mk2 Golf GTI that belongs to Brock Bickford and his daughter with the striking BBS livery, and knew that he wanted to see something done on an incoming preproduction latest generation car.
