“Since we’re a mixed-race couple, we wanted to honor Danica’s formal Filipino traditions while paying homage to Colin’s more casual, secular family,” explains the duo. One of the Filipino rituals included in Guests departed the wedding with thoughtful and sustainable favors. The couple ordered cookies from a company that upcycles spent grain from breweries into flour for baking. Then they encased the treats in reusable beeswax wrappers. A friend of the couple made a wood ring box for the nuptials and some candle holders, while Colin’s mom made all of the centerpieces.
