Tim Mundy has worked on Minis since the age of 13. In the 1990s he worked for Oselli Engineering and has been writing for MiniWorld for 25 years. He has owned more than 20 Minis and built two from scratch.

Starting trouble

My 1980 Mini has been off the road for about 18 months while I have been rebuilding the brakes and suspension and refurbishing and re-trimming the interior. It has not been started during that time and the problem is that it will not start now. I am not that good with engines and electrics; I prefer to leave that to others and concentrate on the areas that I can fix with confidence myself.
