Melanie “Mel” Sinclair is a landscape and creative photographer from Brisbane. A Master of Photography with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) as well as an Associate of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (NZIPP), she says it is the time alone in the landscape that is her meditation, an escape from the busyness of modern life.

Her Places category winning image Pick up sticks was taken during a trip to Parkway, Canada, in November 2019, and depicts piles of trees killed off by a Mountain-Pine Beetle infestation.
