OW WAS JRF FOUNDED? The JRF brand (formerly James Richardson Furniture) was set up in 1956 in a handshake deal between our founder, my grandfather David Mandie AM OBE, and the then owner of TON, the oldest Michael Thonet factory in existence, to import the original bentwood chairs to Australia for the first time. Today, we are their longest standing clients world-wide.
