Fiddler and harmonica player Peter Hope-Evans founded Medicine Head in 1968. Their singular folk-blues found early cheerleaders in John Lennon and John Peel, the latter signing him to his Dandelion label. They scored four hit singles in the UK, the biggest being , before disbanding in 1977. Fiddler has revived the name in recent times, is the first Medicine Head album in a decade.
