s we prepared to send this issue to the printers, our production editor said to me: “Are you sure you want to declare that ‘Monaco is Back!’ in this issue. The owners were on the boat in French Polynesia last year when they were told they had to leave or be forced to stay in Tahiti, so they made for a deserted atoll and that’s where they stayed, in a modem and slightly more luxurious remake of The pictures are stunning, and reinforce the sense of total isolation they experienced. There’s plenty more of that in this issue – catering to a desire to escape. But if, like me, you’re desperate to see some boats and – God forbid – shake a hand or two, the Monaco Yacht Show preview starts on page 49. Is Monaco back? I bloody hope so!
