new online database of German and Austrian public coin collections has been launched, offering collectors the chance to view details of some 90,000 coins. The new website () is free to access and claims to be the biggest coin database in the German-speaking world, comprising parts of the collections of Berlin's Münzkabinett in and Vienna's Kunsthistorisches Museum, with these major holdings being two of 29 allows for a detailed search of digital coin collections both in Germany and abroad. Our users will potentially have access to more than 1,380,000 entries once all original objects have been published, and several hundred thousands more of copies and casts, which represent scientifically relevant material in their own right. In addition the relationship and collaboration of both university and museum collections is made visible.'
