SUCCULENT SMUGGLING IN SOUTHERN AFRICA

outh Africa’s rare succulentare under threat. Environmentalists say many people have been caught smuggling them out of the country for buyers in China and Korea. The World Wildlife Fund reports SA is home to almost a third of all succulent species in the world. This threat of plant poaching is now believed to have a serious impact on the variety of plants found in the northwest of SA and in Namibia.
