The Sky at Night TV show, past, present and future

Five years ago, I had the privilege to stand in the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California, and pose for a photo with members of the NASA Juno mission science and engineering teams just hours before the spacecraft was due to enter into orbit around Jupiter. The atmosphere in thewith tension as we awaited the signal that the spacecraft had fired its engine correctly. After a five-year journey, we were poised to find out if the mission that had been years in the planning would take place – or not.
