Values

ast month I discussed values in relation to tone. These terms often get mixed up as there is a technical difference, but they do both loosely refer to the same thing in the grand scheme of colour theory. In case you missed it, tone describes the greyness of a colour whereas value describes how dark or light a colour is. When colours are shaded, they become greyer and darker simultaneously, in other words, the tone and the value increase at the same time, so you can see how these terms merge. The process will give you very natural looking shade. By considering value we can create contrast and steer middle values to help bridge the gap between light and dark.
