Potato prices still on the increase as volumes remain low

Demand for fresh produce at the end of June and the beginning of July were under pressure due to COVID-19-related lockdown restrictions that limited sit-down dining in restaurants. The civil unrest in KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Gauteng created further stress in the industry in mid-July. During the week of 12 July, looting and violence disrupted many supply chains.
