UK LITERARY MARKET
Fly on the Wall Press is a socially conscious independent publisher based in Manchester.
‘We publish socially conscious novels, short story collections, poetry collections and anthologies which predominantly fundraise for charity,’ said managing director Isabelle Kenyon. ‘Each title has a politically-engaged message to communicate and so we champion international diversity and powerful voices!’
Fly on the Wall set up in 2018 when they published their first anthology, Please Hear What I’m Not Saying – a poetry anthology of 116 voices, fundraising for Mind.
‘This was fundraising for Shelter and Crisis Aid UK. The way I approached this project was much more sophisticated, having set up proper distribution and established relationships with printers and designers. In 2019, I set out to publish individual writers, having taught myself book design and tonnes about the publishing industry through trial and error.’
