Attitudes to age and ageing have come a long way in the past 20 years, thank goodness, but undoubtedly the world has a long way to go in catching up to the fact that life doesn’t, in fact, end when you hit that half-century.

With more time opening up to dedicate to our favourite hobby, why is it that the over 50s don’t always have the same level of visibility in social media and in the marketing for pattern and fabric companies?

Sewing for the over 50s is a growing movement that’s captured the hearts and imagination of sewists across the globe and, thanks to a dedicated group of women, it’s set to revolutionise the sewing market and finally offer that representation that’s so desperately needed.
