The best of British
As I strolled towards East Yorkshire Clay Shooting Ground’s clubhouse early one Saturday in the mid-June sunshine, it was obvious that round one of British Shooting’s Shotgun Series was proving rather popular. I was caught up in the frenzy of competitors parking vast motorhomes, downing hurried coffees, checking over bits of kit and, of course, smashing bright orange clays on the Olympic Skeet and Olympic Trap stands.
Just as striking were the variety of shooters I encountered – older Guns, teenagers, young mums, para athletes, past Olympic medallists and Tokyo 2020 hopefuls. British Shooting has clearly done an admirable job of making this an accessible series where anyone gets the opportunity to shoot alongside some of the best talent in the world.
