FOLLOWING THE MICK

Oct. 20, 2021 would have been Mickey Mantle’s 90th birthday. It is also the 70th anniversary of his rookie year and the 60th anniversary of the great 1961 home run race between Mantle and Roger Maris.

Over those 60 years I have been lucky enough to accumulate a memorabilia collection that traces The Mick’s life.

I became a Yankees fan in 1961 when my dad introduced me to baseball at a time when the New York Yankees were the only baseball team in New York. Growing up in Brooklyn, the Dodgers and Giants had left New York
