Do’s and don’ts with canary nests

WHEN it comes to preparing nests for canaries, it is a rather simple procedure. First you must acquire a nest of the correct size for your type of canary. Then you put in a nest liner, then nesting material and lastly insert it into the cage. There are a few small matters to consider along the way.
Nest pans
First, the size of the nest. This is usually either 3½in or 5in. As a general guideline, the smaller size is for the Fife, Gloster, Irish fancy, Scots or colour-bred, while the larger is for the Border, Norwich or Yorkshire canary, etc. Most nests made commercially these days are either plastic
