Upwardly mobile

wisting, winding, reaching and rising… climbers can liven up the bleakest wall or the shabbiest fence with a lush jungle. They can transform a doorway, bring privacy to a balcony and hide all manner of sins. Many species have origins in woodland habitats, adapting to ascend the trunks of trees, and so are happy in dappled shade. Others provide shelter, nectar and food for wildlife. Some bring jubilant flowers, others a tasty harvest. Some just look pretty.
