FOR TWO decades after his death in 1974, at the ridiculously young age of 26, the singer-songwriter Nick Drake’s work was largely unheard, circulated largely by word of mouth and cassette compilation tapes among a small group of diehard fans.

His older sister Gabrielle may have been a mainstay of Seventies and Eighties television through her roles in and , but the only place you would find Nick’s work was through the more discerning breed of second-hand record shop, the three albums that comprised his small but perfectly formed
