Not everyone is the fortunate position of being able to buy an immaculate air-cooled classic. Then again, not everybody wants to own a Porsche in the kind of condition that’d warrant it worthy of display in a museum. After all, fear of accruing stone chips or worry about a creeping odometer isn’t exactly in keeping with what most of us consider enjoyable driving. Enter Paweł Kalinowski’s unique “recycled 911”, affectionately nicknamed Tardza, an unusual classic Porsche beginning to make a name for itself in the worldwide enthusiast community.

The background to the Tardza story is just as important as the car itself. Paweł’s love of Porsche was ignited shortly after his sixth birthday, when his elder brother solemnly announced the 911 as “the best car ever made”. From this moment, a Porsche poster took pride of place over Paweł’s bed, until, as a young adult, he could afford his own Stuttgart-crested speed machine, taking the shape of a black 1983 911 SC.
