Eat yourself younger

You’ve heard the phrase ‘beauty comes from within’? Well, it’s more than a well-worn adage. You do have the ability to nourish your skin from within; your diet is as key as your skin cream.

A skin-kind diet that hydrates your cells, fights free-radical damage and repairs collagen, is also one that will benefit your health in many other ways.

It’s based on common-sense principles you can easily adopt. At the top of your list are quality sources of those all-important essential fatty acids, such as oily fish; avocados and seeds, to help your skin’s cells retain water; lean protein, such as fish, chicken and pulses, which help repair skin cells; antioxidant-rich fruit and veg, such as leafy greens and berries; and two litres of water a day to keep your complexion plump and hydrated.
